Faith almost restored..Almost.

Over the weekend I, for about an hour or so, thought that one random act of kindness had my faith restored in humanity. We were snowboarding, sitting at the car getting ready, and I was approached by a middle age woman who was looking for scissors. Turns out someone with us actually had scissors with them. The woman had decided against a day on the mountain as her husband, significant other, whatever, had messed up his shins. It was this woman's intention to give us the lift ticket for the day. That's an $80 value. Since I have a season pass, I had no use for it, so I passed it on to someone who was with us.

About an hour or so went by, and we had taken 2 - 3 runs. We get to the main lift line, and when the ticket is scanned, it turns out it was a ticket from the day before. How stupid can that woman have been to give us the wrong ticket? Was it intentional? So now, we're holding up the line. People behind us are starting to talk. In a moment of impressive restraint, I decided against going on a profanity laced tirade because of the person behind us in line. No shit we're holding up the line. You think I didn't realize that? Go back to Quebec, snooty French Canadian asshole.

So, the ticket scanning employee now will not let us up, understandably. Instead of taking the ticket, he decides to act as an escort and bring our poor friend all the way to Guest Services, while, I backtrack to the car to get the free voucher this person had prior to the retard that needed the scissors walked into our lives. By the time I get back to Guest Services, at least 30 minutes later, no one is there. Our phones are in the car. We finally found each other, and finished out the day. How could that woman have not known it wasn't the right day? Why didn't one of us see it? I continue to have no faith in humanity.

That is all.

MTV to bring back Beavis and Butthead

 Click to read the article

After a long hiatus, MTV and Mike Judge have teamed up to bring back Beavis and Butthead. Happy reading (click the headline to get to the article). I swear to god, this better not suck like the scores of other shows that are brought out of retirement in an attempt to grab ratings and, more importantly, money. Guess we will have to wait for Summer.
I do love pretty much anything Mike Judge does, especially King of the Hill. His subtle ways of making fun of specific demographic categories, as well as society as a whole, are priceless. And the people that can’t see the humor in it, you are either A.) part of the demographic he is making fun of, or B.) or just plain dense..

I don't want a Bing

What you can expect to see...

What you can expect to see..

I have, for the most part, been against blogging for quite some time. Mostly because the web 2.0 revolution has provided any Tom, Dick, and Harry a platform for bitching, and frankly, the majority of society annoys me. Why would I want to subject myself to something I know I would be annoyed with? But slowly, over the past couple of years as I integrated mySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc. into my life, this phenomena has really got me interested. And you know what? I am just like every other human I just typed about, I want to be heard. So what can you expect from this blog?
Well, for one, you will see me pointing out what I perceive to be the ills of society (platform for bitching). You will see me repost things I find amusing, things I like, etc. Basically, this blog will just give you a little insight on what goes on in my head. It will be unscheduled, raw, and probably very random. I’ll let you see the life through the eyes of a borderline narcissistic cynical Marketing person who loves to write and absolutely cracks himself up.
Things I will not do in this blog include (but are not limited to); censoring myself (some profanity will be used on occasion), using people’s real names when I have a targeted rant (that’s not very nice), whining about how tough life is (we’ve all been in these circumstances, I am not going to pretend that my situations and hardships are unique in any way), trying to not embarrass myself or embellish any truth (if something is funny and I am the jackass, you deserve to hear it) and acting like my life and the way I live it is in any way correct (but it works for me).
So, I hope you enjoy reading, feel free to drop me a line or comment on anything you see, as well as repost my entries. And away we go..
